Anyone Else Bothered by this C-Pillar?

I've been looking forward to the new 2015 Chevy and GMC SUV reveal for the past several months. Now that its finally here, I find myself incredibly bothered by the way the door meets the C-Pillar. There's a thousand and one things going on in that area, the chrome surround, the black plastic upright section, the mini glass section, and finally the window.

What happened to the clean C-Pillar design of the past 21 years? Anyone else hung-up on that part of the design?

Side Note: I definitely prefer the GMC to the Chevy, which has become a bit too Traverse like. The interiors on either are absolutely phenomenal though, and I could spend days in them.

Not especially. Just bothers. All of it.

The tapering annoys me to be honest, just didn't feel like bringing it up. I could be wrong but it looks like it's a different width at the top and bottom. Either that or the window is making it an optical illusion. Regardless, it clearly bugs me.

maybe they are going with a nautical theme.

the headlights are upside down comma's. Car manufacturers figured out that the trend toward stretching headlights all the way to the side mirrors isn't cool (see Sonic, I think), so they cut them off, now it's a comma.

Nah, I've grown used to seeing them on the 4Runners.

looks like they are lifted strait from the acadia...which is too bad because they are WAY too small to be of use.

The whole thing bothers me.

That said, I do like the front fender shape. Doesn't look very GM-y (which is probably why it looks decent)

There's way too many lines here. They should have made that last bit of vertical chrome part of the door, and made the back of the door framed by a thin piece of body color metal like the top of the door and the entire top half of the front door.

To the photoshoppe!

I think they put it there so nerds can put carbon fiber stickers there.

I like the excursion, I really do, but I've always seen it as a rip off of the Suburban - considering the 'Burb is turning 80 and has had the same general shape since the 70s.

Much much better! That's how I expected it to look, with a nice clean diagonal c pillar against the door.

Haha Don't get me wrong, I love those things. They even got the C-Pillar right, just as GM had always managed to do up until now apparently.
